Armenia is a country full of sun and it always surprises with its big variety of fruits, which are famous for their sweetness and juiciness.
- ✓ In the end of June and in the beginning of July begins the season of apricot, which is the symbol of Armenia and one of its main associations. There is a huge amount of vitamins in the apricot. Apricot has a strong anti-atherosclerotic effect, as well as it improves the metabolism and prevents the cause of the large intestine cancer. Apricots of bright orange color have some loads of fibers, which control the blood sugar and regulate the digestion system acidity.
- ✓ June is also the season of peach, which actually lasts quite long. Peach is a real delicate among all the fruits. Peaches come in different sizes; there can be huge ones weighing almost 0.5 kg, and there may be those, the core of which comes out with ease and they are famous also with the name “ptchghovi”. Peach contains organic acids, ascorbic acid and various vitamins as well. There is vitamin C in peach, which blocks free radicals, gives elasticity to the skin and prevents it from aging. Peach also holds antioxidant selenium, which fosters hair and nails growths.
- ✓ The period between end of June and October is the season of melon and watermelon. The latter is good for arthritis and joint treatment. What is more, it is an absolute urinary tract, since it consists of 90% water. Melon is rich with folic acids, also it contains vitamins, such as cilium, magnesium, phosphor and calcium. However funny it sounds, in the hot weather the Armenian enjoy watermelon with a salty cheese made from sheep milk.
- ✓ In the meantime between June and November in different parts of Armenia plums, pears and apples can be found as well.
Many types of fruits are exported from Armenia, while during the season the local Armenians have the chance to fully embrace the abundance of delicious and wholesome fruits.
